Young Violinist Wows San Diego Audiences
True to form this year, the San Diego Chamber Orchestra,
under the leadership of Artistic Director Jung-Ho Pak, captured
the hearts and minds of its audiences Monday and Tuesday nights
at the Sherwood Auditorium in La Jolla and at the Del Mar Country
Club in Rancho Santa Fe, with a brilliant performance featuring
the extraordinarily expressive young violinist Lindsay Deutsch
in a concert named Music for the Seasons.
According to Maestro Pak, "Lindsay epitomizes what we're all about.beautiful
music filled with a uniqueness and passion that energizes concertgoers of all
ages."
Ms. Deutsch was featured in Piazzolla's Winter
in Buenos Aires from The Four
Seasons and Vivaldi's Summer from The
Four Seasons; however, it was Mark O'Connor's
Spring from The American Seasons that brought cheers of "Bravo!" from the audience.
A passionate performer filled with a fresh energy and extraordinary
talent, Lindsay says, "There is something so special about being in the zone in front of an audience,
and it can be quite addictive. The zone is a place where the mind is at total
peace and the soul takes the reins. The outcome is sometimes surprising, but
always very special and fresh."
Jung-Ho and Lindsay were featured on segments of the Fox6 San
Diego Living Show and on KUSI's Good
Morning San Diego show this month.
Another highlight of the evening was the exceptionally talented
soprano Katherine Blumenthal, a member of the San Diego Opera Ensemble,
who sang Welche Labung für die Sinne! from Haydn's The
Seasons and Air from Boismortier's The
Four Seasons.
The concert will be repeated on Friday night at St. Paul's Cathedral downtown
at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.sdco.org or through the box office,
