San Diego Chamber Orchestra Celebrates the New Year with Music for the Seasons
The San Diego Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Jung-Ho Pak and joined by the compelling young violinist Lindsay Deutsch, will celebrate the seasons and a new year with their January concert, Music
for the Seasons.
True to form, Maestro Pak will tuck some wonderful surprises into
this concert. Eight beautifully descriptive and eclectic masterpieces,
the most celebrated of which is Summer from Vivaldi's The
Four Seasons, will be performed. Also included will be Tchaikovsky's February - Shrovetide
Festival from The Seasons, Piazzolla's Winter
in Buenos Aires from The Four Seasons, Haydn's Welche
Labung für die Sinne! from The Seasons, O'Connor's delightful Spring from The
American Seasons which dances to a carefree fiddle, Boismortier's Air from The
Four Seasons, Glazunov's Petit Adagio and Bacchanale from The
Seasons, and Cage's Summer from The
Seasons, an altogether different take on nature's seasons.
As a young artist in the dawn of her career, Ms. Deutsch has
thrilled audiences throughout the U.S. and Canada with her energetic
and passionate performances. Soprano Katherine Blumenthal, a promising
young singer is also a guest artist for this concert, representing
an ongoing collaboration between the San Diego Opera and the San
Diego Chamber Orchestra.
