A Magical Night to Remember! 24th Annual Fundraiser for the San Diego Chamber Orchestra


Honoring Frances Hunter
The San Diego Chamber Orchestra plans to kick off their 25th year with their biggest annual fundraiser event ever on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Hyatt La Jolla Regency, San Diego, for a magical night to remember! With a theme of "The Magic of Music," the black-tie evening will honor long-time Orchestra supporter Frances Hunter, and will include a cocktail reception, a silent auction, a performance by the SDCO musicians, a live auction, dinner and dancing to the music of the Nu Vision band.

Chairs Steve and Kathleen Davis and the Event Committee, consisting of Ellen Burkhart, Elaine Darwin, Judy Ferrero, Danielle Fulton, Stephanie Fulton, Nancy Hand, Sue Hoffmeister, Charlene Hooker, Erika Horn, Gay Hugh-Martinez, Jennifer Kelley, Cathy Lynch, Laura Robinson and Joanna Tsai, have lined up exciting auction items, including an 8-day Viking cruise on the Danube River, one week at an Exclusive Resort property, five days at a ski-in/ski-out private home in Deer Valley, Utah, a luxury box for a Padres game, and --- VERY SPECIAL --- a beautifully restored 1950/1960 classic car!!

Honorary Chairs are Maestro Jung-Ho Pak and Elsie Weston.

Sponsors are Charles Schwab, DJ Orthopedics, Irving Hughes and Broadcast Company of the Americas.

The Orchestra, under the leadership of the dynamic Jung-Ho Pak, Artistic Director, in his second year with the Orchestra, is implementing a vision to revolutionize - and humanize - classical music. This season has been a phenomenal success, with sold-out concerts, concertgoers who have been "over-the-top" with their positive comments about the extraordinary experience of each concert, and an unprecedented connection between the Orchestra musicians and the audience.

Frances Hunter, a much-beloved member of the Orchestra's "family," has been a major supporter of the Orchestra since 1983 and a major donor to the Orchestra's Education Program.

Longstanding supporters of the Orchestra have been joined by dynamic young professionals who are drawn to Jung-Ho's innovative approach to music, and all will join together for this "Magic of Music" fundraising event!
