Beautiful Music from Russia - San Diego Chamber Orchestra

The San Diego Chamber Orchestra will present the best that Russia has to offer with its February concert, Russian Romance. In this concert, Maestro Pak has combined jewels of the Russian repertoire to create a breathtakingly beautiful and heart-stirring concert. Whether it is Rachmaninoff's intensely beautiful Vocalise for Orchestra or Prokofiev's take on history's most famous romance, Romeo and Juliet, concertgoers will be sure to find music close to their hearts in this concert.

Joined by Soprano Rebecca Skarr, a Metropolitan Opera National council regional finalist and now in her second year with the San Diego Opera Ensemble, the talented Orchestra musicians will perform seven pieces from Russian composers Tchaikovsky (Serenade for Strings and Waltz from Sleeping Beauty), Glinka (Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture), Borodin (Polovtsian Dance No. 17), Rachmaninoff (Vocalise for Orchestra), Khachaturian (Adagio from Spartacus Suite) and Prokofiev (Balcony Scene from Romeo and Juliet).
