San Diego Chamber Orchestra Announces Morgan Stanley Sponsors Pops on the Promenade Concert Sunday September 9, 2007


San Diego, CA (August 22, 2007) –  Morgan Stanley of Rancho Santa Fe has generously agreed to sponsor  the San Diego Chamber Orchestra’s September 9th concert, Pops on the Promenade, to be performed at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Glenn Mazzone of Morgan Stanley commented, “We are proud to partner with the Orchestra to bring this wonderful music to the Rancho Santa Fe community.”

This is the third year the Orchestra has performed this delightful evening concert on the lawn. Soprano Nicole Werner and Violinist Adrianne Pope join the Orchestra and Artistic Director and Conductor Jung-Ho Pak for an evening of Broadway hits, light classics, and patriotic favorites.  Maestro Pak has combined well loved works such as Stars and Stripes Forever and The Star Spangled Banner with selections of Broadway hits from The Sound of Music and Chicago and a collection of love songs to be performed by the versatile and entertaining vocalist Ms. Werner.  This year, Ms. Werner will be joined by seventeen year old violinist Ms. Pope who’s playing has won numerous awards and accolades.

This year’s concert is dedicated to “Our Heroes and Freedom.”  Special guests will include wounded military from the Balboa hospital and personnel from Camp Pendleton.  Wells Fargo Private Client Group, Gay and Albert Hugo-Martinez and Ken and Jill King are donating seats for Our Heroes.

Pops on the Promenade will be on the Promenade Lawn of the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Seating begins at 4:30pm with the concert at 5:00pm.  Dinner for table seats will begin at 6:30pm.  Table seats are $100 each and tables for ten are $1,000 each. Dinner for table seats will be served following the concert.  Lawn tickets can be purchased at $20 for adults and $10 for children under 16 years old.  Snacks will be available for sale by The Inn for lawn seats. Please, no outside food on the lawn.

The Orchestra performs a six-concert classical music series throughout San Diego County at Del Mar Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Sherwood Auditorium in La Jolla and St. Paul’s Cathedral in Downtown San Diego.  The Orchestra also annually presents Handel’s Messiah, pops concerts and various light classical programs in additional venues throughout the year.
