YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The past year has presented Orchestra Nova with its share of challenges – and opportunities. A new name, an outstanding new venue and a far-reaching new music education program have ushered in an exciting new era for an orchestra teeming with creativity, passion, innovation and purpose.

Generous investments in Orchestra Nova from our supporters has helped create the milestones that have catapulted us onto a higher plane. Your continued investment is essential to the continuance of that success.

Masterpiece Messiah - A last-minute surprise!

Orchestra Nova's guests have learned by now to expect surprises. This week's performances of Masterpiece Messiah will be no exception, although this surprise is being announced in advance!

Unfortunately, one of our favorite people, the highly acclaimed alto Katherine Lundeen (a long-time Messiah soloist with the orchestra) has had to cancel this week after losing her voice due to a pesky cold. Scrambling to find a replacement, it was discovered that the world-renowned countertenor Brian Asawa happened to be in San Diego, his hometown - a rarity, since his busy schedule keeps him "on the road" most of the year.

And so it is that Orchestra Nova San Diego and Bach Collegium San Diego will perform Handel's Messiah Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week in three local churches and Brian Asawa will be joining them. along with three other highly acclaimed guest soloists.
