Principal Guest Artist
Lindsay Deutsch
Lindsay Deutsch returns as our Principal Guest Artist after a series of standing ovation performances two years ago. Lindsay is exemplary of what we’re all about – performing with her heart and soul in a way that connects with and inspires those who are participating as guests in the Orchestra Nova experience.
A passionate performer filled with a limitless energy, Lindsay Deutsch has thrilled audiences since she was 11 years old when she made her performance debut.
“An important component to performing is inspiration. Every piece I play has something special to offer and makes me feel something different inside,” Lindsay remarks. “But, if ever I am feeling like it’s going to be a dreary practice day, I just put on a CD of some of the greats and feel immediately inspired.”
As a young artist in the dawn of a career, dedication and determination are two of the most important elements to success. Once the #1 ranked junior racquetball player in the world, before a knee injury forced her to quit, Lindsay has learned a thing or two about dedication and determination. With a bit of humor, Lindsay notes, “Now I stick to ping-pong. It is much safer and, although I don’t compete, I still play to win!”
Although her calendar is filled with festivals and guest appearances each year, Lindsay continues to dedicate herself to cultivating music appreciation in young people. In 2007 she and her sister, Lauren, co-founded Classics Alive (www.ClassicsAlive.org), a nonprofit dedicated to building classical music audiences. Classics Alive is now in the process of developing a new web site which will allow student musicians to upload videos of their performances to be viewed by fellow young musicians from around the world.
To stay on top of her game, Lindsay rehearses five hours each day, seven days a week, leaving enough time to read, listen to rock music, and play with her dog, Chloe.

“I first met Jung Ho at a summer music festival when I was 10 years old. That experience with him really lit a musical fire within me and made me realize that music was what I wanted to spend my life doing. Working with Jung Ho again all these years later is really a special experience for me because I still feed off of the innovative, fiery energy he creates onstage.” Lindsay Deutsch |
