Orchestra Nova San Diego is searching for an entrepreneurial and dynamic Executive Director/CEO to lead this cutting-edge organization on the cusp of national and international recognition.

 

This individual must:

•  lead with a bold business paradigm of creating broad media impact and mass appeal for the orchestra through a    savvy financial strategy

•  have the ability to inspire a strong board and experienced staff in a professional and charismatic way

•  have a passion for making classical music relevant to a rapidly changing society

•  have a firm understanding of standard financial practices

•  have the ability to speak passionately and persuasively about the orchestra

•  have a consummate understanding of how to grow donor support, corporate partnerships and fundraising    successes

 

Responsibilities include:

•  a close, collaborative partnership with the Artistic Director, Jung-Ho Pak, and other executive management

•  a supervisory role for exempt and non-exempt employees

•  creating and fostering a collaborative management environment in which staff input is essential for the strength    of the company

• working closely with the orchestra committee to support a mutually and producitve partnership with our    professional musicians

 

About Orchestra Nova

•  Our mission is to create an extraordinary theatrical experience with classical music that attracts people from all    ages and backgrounds, while emerging on the international scene as one of the most visionary and innovative    orchestras in the industry.

• Our musicians are adventurous and expressive, and we regularly use multimedia to enhance the guests'    experience.

•  We record our concerts with numerous high-definition cameras and have future plans for broadcasting.

•  Orchestra Nova currently has an annual budget of $1M+.

•  Previously known as the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Nova San Diego was founded in 1984.

• The orchestra performs throughout San Diego County , including St. Paul 's Cathedral near downtown,    Sherwood Auditorium in La Jolla and the state-of-the-art Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall in Sorrento Valley ;    they will perform in the Rancho Santa Fe Performing Arts Center upon its completion in 2011.

•  The orchestra performs a five-concert Nova Classics series, a three-concert pops series at the California Center    for the Arts in Escondido and three Masterpiece Messiah concerts in local churches.

•  Orchestra Nova has one of the most extensive, highly acclaimed (and rapidly growing) music education    outreach programs in San Diego County .

•  We place a high priority on creating a joyous, creative and fulfilling experience for every member of the team:    musicians, staff and board members.

Previous experience in the arts or nonprofit sector is not essential. What is essential is an individual with proven leadership experience who will lead with a passion for implementing Orchestra Nova's mission and vision and ensure long-term financial stability.
