Hernan
Constantino
Violin, Principal
There are a few individuals who have such a strong impact on
the Orchestra that it is unimaginable to think of one without
the other. Hernan’s ability to inspire and his incredible work
ethic make him one of those few. Hernan was born and raised in
the Philippines where his father’s love for the violin prompted
him to begin studying the instrument. Hernan initially established
himself in Oregon where he was first violinist of the Portland
Opera Orchestra and the West Coast Chamber Orchestra, a substitute
with the Oregon Symphony, and a professor at Oregon State University.
Hernan moved to San Diego where the weather is better suited
for his love of golf. Hernan performs with the San Diego Symphony,
and is an active teacher and faculty member at San Diego State
University where he continues to inspire young people.
