Karla
Contreras
Violin
Many of you will recognize Karla from the viola section
of our Orchestra in 2005-2006. But in fact, Karla began her
musical career as a violinist at the age of six when her mother "forced"
her to play violin and piano.”I remember hating violin at first,"
Karla explains. “At age 9 I joined my first orchestra and found
it quite enjoyable. At age 11 I moved up to 'advanced' orchestra.
It was under the inspiration of this conductor that I decided
I loved music so much I wanted to grow up to be a professional
musician.” Karla now performs as a part of our violin section.
What an asset for an orchestra to have, an individual equally
at home on two instruments.
