Our Musicians

Judith Hendershott
Viola

Judith has always loved listening to her father make music. "There was always music in the home when I grew up. My father had been an accordionist in some of the upscale hotel/restaurants in Washington D.C. in the 1930s. He taught me to play the accordion." After begin introduced to the accordion Judith discovered the violin and took it upon herself to make one out of a cigar box strung with rubber bands. "It didn't sound very good but I slept with it," comments Judith. Today Judith holds a BA in chemistry from UCSD. She worked for several years as a film editor for TV stations and is now learning the art of Chinese painting.
