Robert Schumitzky
Violin

Robert is not your average violinist, if indeed there is such a thing. Despite his obvious affinity for ice hockey, a love for music - and the violin - came first. You can't help but see his infectious passion about music-making. Along with Orchestra Nova he holds first violin positions with the Opera Pacific Orchestra (where he is the Associate Concertmaster), the Pacific Symphony Orchestra and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. He also serves as the Personnel Manager and Librarian for Opera Pacific.

That he can juggle all of these duties is a testament to his organization, meticulous personality, integrity and computer skills. As a teenager, gentle family pressure was applied so he could fulfill his musical promise which resulted in his move to New York and subsequent graduation from the Juilliard School . "I am so thrilled to be joining Orchestra Nova at such an exciting time. It has always been my dream to be able to contribute on a more intimate level," says Robert.
