Ryan Simmons
Bassoon, Principal

"I was introduced to music by my dad who had a huge record collection growing up," recalls Ryan. Perhaps it was partially the early influence a large music collection had on Ryan, but he now serves as Orchestra Nova’s librarian in charge of cataloguing, acquiring, and dispersing all of the Orchestra’s music for the season. Prior to joining Orchestra Nova, Ryan performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Symphony, the Jacksonville Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has been Adjunct Professor of Bassoon at Jacksonville University and San Diego State University.
